Michelin Travel Guide to France, 1961

The late, great Anthony Bourdain famously discovered his passion for food—the good, the bad, and the ugly—during a childhood trip to France in the early 1960s. We have to wonder if his parents had a copy of the 1961 Michelin Travel Guide to France. Did this guide inspire Tony's family to reserve a table at Taillevent during that childhood trip? (Two stars, worth a detour.) Were any of his Brasserie menu items inspired by the famous dishes at Grand Vefour, one of the few 3-star restaurants in the guide? So much more than a book—it's an adventurer's guide to some of the finest food of 1960s France. Tony would be proud of you.
